Rob’s Smashes His “Run 60 Miles in September” Fundraising Target!

This month, when Rob has not been  busy treating patients and dealing with their aches and pains, he's been running up a Sheffield hill or two (and back down again), as part of his 'Run 60 Miles In September' charity challenge to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Rob Mooney, originally started fundraising with the target of £100 however was able to raise £350 for Cancer Research UK! Well done Rob!

'I've had to rethink the school run - no pun intended - and plan how to get my miles completed. I've  been loving every minute of it but some days are easier than others depending on the weather! 'says Rob who keeps his trainers by his front door in a bid to maximise every opportunity to leave the house come rain or shine to clock up the miles. He's fortunate to live near a few of Sheffields beautiful tree-lined parks which offer a choice of leafy scenic routes which have become more 'autumnal' as this month draws to an end.

Rob originally planned to raise £100, for the charity which funds scientists, doctors and nurses to work towards prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

However, thanks to the generosity of all who have been impressed by Rob's selflessness and determination, he has exceeded his target with funds raised standing at a grand total of £350 (at time of going to press) - and everyday he's still running!

'I've been touched by the support from friends, family, work colleagues and patients I've received so far. Cancer is happening right now which is why I'm fundraising for Cancer Research UK' adds Rob, who is now on the last leg of this month's momentous endeavour and is also on target to run more than 60 miles before September is out.

So, lets make it happen and help boost funds further before Rob's trainers may have to be surgically removed from his feet!
